Shadow was my replacement dog for Silou , my first border collie.
Unfortunately I didn't have quite as much luck with Shadow in the obedience ring as with Silou, but Shadow is still a
great dog. She gained her novice obedience title (C.D companion dog) and gained one leg towards her open obedience
title (C.D.X companion dog excellence). She also did some minor tracking but not enough to get her any titles.
Shadow showed a real flair for agility and began competing in both agility and jumpers. She finished her excellent jumpers title in her last trial for 2006 and also gained her first leg of masters agility at the same time. She finished both her Masters Agility and Jumpers titles in September 2007. In 2007 Shadow managed to get 7 qualifies in Masters Jumpers to get her title and 6 qualifies in Masters Agility to finish that title. We are so proud of this girl!
In 2008 Shadow started competing in the new classes of agility and jumpers, namely Open and also Strategic Pairs. In September she finished her novice Strategic Pairs title and got her first two qualifies towards her Open Jumpers title!
In 2009 Shadow was going to be semi-retired with only the occasional trial still but unfortunately in early April she was diagnosed with an immune deficiency disease that ended her trialling career for good. In August 2009 Shadow lost her fight to this disease and we sadly had to say goodbye far too soon.
Shadow was bred once to Charlstud Cheviott Laird and had a beautiful litter of five, two red and white pups (one of each) and three black and white pups(two females and a male). All of her progeny are doing well in their new homes. You can check out two of them on this site: Brandy and Dallas.
